We have some people claiming loudly that the OpenSolaris releases are indeed real releases, requiring version number bumps, and others insisting just as much that they're not real, and thus incompatible changes to "unreleased" bits are still acceptable. I'm not going to hold *this* case up for it, but it'd be really swell to have something -- anything -- like a coherent plan for the OpenSolaris release mechanism. Otherwise, we're just fooling ourselves. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <james.d.carlson at sun.com> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677
