I think this is something the ARC needs to drive formally. If the project team members want to bring it up as well, that's great, and it would help highlight the issue that we're still doing work in an area where we've defunded the basic system architecture. The harder call is what to do about _this_ project. If I were given a vote, I would argue first for a case dependency on a to-be-named future project that resolves the OpenLDAP versus Native LDAP conflict and sets direction. Failing that, I'd be forced to vote to deny. I still don't think the project team is necessarily doing anything wrong, and the resulting change may well be for the good, but the lack of direction here is just not tolerable.
