It looks like these file files are in a known place; they are created in 
the root directory of the new file system.

 From man page of ufsrestore:

     The temporary files rstdir* and rstmode* are placed in  /tmp
     by  default.  If  the environment variable TMPDIR is defined
     with a non-empty value, that location  is  used  instead  of
     /tmp.

This looks like a good RFE for star.
