Doesn't PSARC 2002/348 and its associated Opinion require all C++
libraries which explose public API's to be compiled with Sun Studio,
and more specifically with Version 5 of the Sun C++ ABI [ -compat=5] ?

All the libraries in OpenEXR compile with Sun Studio 12 (and actually
with Studio 11 as well).

What are the technical reasons behind this exemption being requested ?
