The above is incorrect. There are two possibilities for delivering an apache conf file: If installing the nagios package is intended to automatically enable corresponding behavior in apache, then drop the nagios.conf file in / etc/apache2/2.2/conf.d/ directory. This requires that the nagios.conf file be delivered so it works out of the box. If you only want to deliver a sample or template config (which may also be necessary if the config file requires site-specific configuration before it can be used) then deliver it into /etc/ apache2/2.2/samples-conf.d directory. (Also required if it loads GPL plugins.) As an aside, what is the apache functionality nagios package is delivering via this config file? The case didn't say. -- Jyri Virkki - jyri.virkki at sun.com .
