As a systems admin for a Sun client, I am very much looking forward to Sun
provided Samba 3.4. (I was getting concerned that Sun would freeze samba
support at 3.0 in favor of native CIFS support. I remember Sun for years
explaining why PCNetLink was superior to Samba before quite reasonably
abandoning PCNL for Samba.) )

In the interim I am trying to compile it myself to prepare for Windows 7
support. This post helps clarify why compiling. ldap support has been
tricky. The Samba build from Sunfreeware.com works pretty well but does seem
to fully support zfs and winbind.

Is there a Sun/OpenSolaris Samba project web site? Are you using (or planning
to use) GCC or Sun Studio for the compiler?

Thanks
