I'm quite uncomfortable with that for the same reason that I'm always uncomfortable with host-versus-router distinctions: they always seem far too arbitrary to me. That applies in this case -- I don't think "hostmodel" is really the right label to apply and that the underlying behavior is hazardous to use. But I also know when I'm failing to make progress, so if you're comfortable with this, then drive on.
