We are fixing the issue described in 6276367. As part of the S10 fix we backport the boot-config service. Summary of 6276367: On Solaris systems, boot-archive inconsistencies during boot up causes the system to enter into sulogin mode. System administrators have to update the boot archive and then reboot the system. We are trying to automate this process for an extent as part of the fix. We use boot-config service to add a property 'trust-bios-boot-device' (private property) and have a check for this property during boot up to decide on whether to trust the default grub entry of the system in case of x86. S10 boot-config.xml: http://jurassic.eng/net/ssaesrv.eng/export/users/gm149974/scratch/auto_boot_archive_feature/webrev/usr/src/cmd/halt/smf/boot-config.xml.html Its usage in : http://jurassic.eng/net/ssaesrv.eng/export/users/gm149974/scratch/auto_boot_archive_feature/webrev/usr/src/cmd/svc/milestone/fs-usr.sdiff.html The PSARC case only had a minor binding approval. Now I am requesting for patch binding. Thanks, Gangadhar _______________________________________________ opensolaris-arc mailing list [email protected]
