Reguarding Xorg, SFW and JDS/GNOME; I strongly believe that there should be no (or little) reason to open source these as they are already open sourced projects.
For Xorg, we hope to eventually get to the point where most of what we deliver via OpenSolaris is simply our build scripts and the Solaris package definitions, plus the set of patches against the current release we're using in our current builds, since we won't be simply pulling CVS HEAD every build, but instead pull at the release times, and individual changes in between. (Hopefully with the Xorg modular tree, we'll be able to pull individual package releases between the semiannual rollup releases to minimize even those.) I posted a bit more detail last week before I disappeared for a week's vacation at: http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/alanc?entry=x_org_community_opensolaris_x -- -Alan Coopersmith- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Microsystems, Inc. - X Window System Engineering _______________________________________________ opensolaris-code mailing list [email protected] https://opensolaris.org:444/mailman/listinfo/opensolaris-code
