This does not really make sense as this would soon make printf unusable.
Note that POSIX may like to add other different new format specs.
A better idea would be to enhance printf to allow overloading the format specs.
There are some ideas on FreeBSD and from David Korn.....
I did also have some ideas but due to OpenSolaris I habe not enough time
