What I am planning to do is to implement extra scheduling functionality in the process scheduler so that it also handles fine grained power saving, that is, can shut down unused parts of the processor die and assign processes to processors in the most power efficient way. This is on a simulated architecture not available as a product. So basically I want to extend an existing scheduler with this functionality.
