POSIX allows symlinks to avoid file meta data (i.e. inodes).
Solaris implements inodes for symlinks but ignores owner and permissions.
BTW: HP-UX also ignores the symlnk permissions but allows you to create
symlinks with permissions different from 777 in case you set umask before
creating the symlink.
