I cast my vote for GSD...but since I'm not doing the work it's a rather meaningless vote. Having had to maintain code in and around (and maybe adding some of) the cruft in se & su over the years and peeking at zs and asy on occasion I can only imagine how much easier serial driver maintenance would become...and adding support for a new chip would (should?) be a breeze! Just add a few chip specific functions and most of those would be small I'd guess.
