Yes, but that is one single command which only exists in one single
directory... but what happens if you have to deal with a dozend (or
more) subdirs across the whole tree ?

IMO it may be nice to have some "global switch" which turns the
optimisation "off" for the whole tree instead of adding per-projects
hacks...
