err...The story is
I were reading the dtrace's source code by using the source insight. I
imported all the opensolaris b58's source files, but always I would meet
some symbols that source insight could not resolve, both functions and
variables. Then I used the ggrep to find them, and knew some of these
unresolved symbols are resided in XXX.m4 files.
It was my first time to meet these files. I thought they are part of the
source code, but I didn't know how to translate them.

Then I post my artilce here. But after doing this, I pressed m4 in the shell
randomly and got the key.

I'm a new comer, and thanks for your advice. Next time I'll check the
Makefile first and try to find the answer there.

What things have you tried?

Did you try looking at the makefiles that use those m4 files?

Or the m4(1) man page?
