Another good possibility is to do your debugging on Nevada, and then,
when you're ready to ship it, compile on S9 or older and do final
testing.  As long as you stick to the documented interfaces and pay
attention to which features are new with Nevada (and not documented on
S9), this might be a faster way to go.
