Unless you're really heavily getting involved in the kernel for some
specific reason (tuning, diagnostics) I'd stay well away from it. You
don't need to fully understand it to run it. Going from "working on
java" to understanding the kernel internals is a huge leap requiring
years of study.

Maybe you should start with some Solaris beginner guides.

from India and currently working on java.

> I am new to solaris (I mean totally blank about it) and want to
know it insideout, I am referring "Solaris Internals: Solaris 10 and
OpenSolaris Kernel Architecture by Richard McDougall, Jim Mauro" for
understanding the solaris 10 kernel I have also ordered the "starter
kit" and am expecting to get it by end of this month, but I need help on
code level, not too much, only guidence about how to get strated on code
study.(yes I've been on "code browser" at opensolaris.org, but it's too
big for a new commer to digest).
