I minor addendum to the below announcement to clarify a couple of
points(since I got offline queries).
DEADLINE:
------------------
The dealine to submit the talk proposal is 8-Oct. This is abstract
only and not the entire presentation !
(for details see
http://foss.in/2007/info/Call_for_Participation#Important_Dates)

TRAVEL SPONSORSHIP:
----------------------------------------
Those who are deterred by the lack of funds, while registering there
is an option to say
1) I will sponsor myself
2) I will need part sponsorship
3) I need full sponsorship & cant come without sponsorship

The suggested route to try:
  1) Check with your own employer
  2) Check if you can fund yourself
2.5) Check with sun (?)
   3) Request for part sponsorship. If this is not viable request for
full sponsorship.
(See
http://foss.in/2007/info/Call_for_Participation#Travel_Support_for_Speakers)

( If you are from sun the option 1 is likely to be the only one! :)

You may choose suitably.

While this doesn't guarantee sponsorship, it is worthwhile to explore
the options instead of dropping without checking these out.

Foss.in team will be discussing sponsorship related details with the
speakers *after* their submissions are selected.

warm regards
Shiv
