I'm looking at getting a Sunfire V880 that has four processor/memory boards (each board with 2 processors and 16Gb of RAM). Specifically, 4 x Dual 900 Mhz CPU/Memory Board (8 x UltraSparc III and 16 GB RAM) 501-6334
What is the maximum amount of memory available to a single processor? i.e., On an otherwise unloaded system, can I have a short C program malloc a 60Gb single chunk of memory and have it all in RAM? Or am I limited to the 16Gb on the local processor board?
