And patches are an artifact of Sun's extended SVR4 packaging - the IPS
system used in the OpenSolaris OS will not have patches, but instead new
package versions you download from the repository.   IPS will be smart
enough to only download the files that have changed from the package
version you have, giving that benefit of patches, without much of the
pain our patching system has imposed.
