Recently my system has started to behave oddly. After I logoff w or who will report the user as still logged on. ps shows that there is no process associated with the user. On some occasions the "what" field of the output of the 'w' command reports 'sched". Looking back through my changes to the kernel/libs etc. there's nothing obvious as to why this happening. I'm assuming that something updates an entry in /var/adm/utmpx but is not doing it or not doing it correctly. Does anyone have any pointers as to where to look?
