Solaris supports booting from IDE, SCSI, SAS, SATA, WAN, and SAN for x86 & 
SPARC.  Support depends on the host and firmware.  If you have a non-SUN box 
It's best to run the hardware support utility from the LIVE CD to verify it 
will work.
