Hi, I am a Master's student looking to explore FCoE stack. I am not finding any relevant documentation on FCoE except the code present in open-fcoe.org. I wish to do an academic project on FCoE. Any project ideas would be greatly helpful.
My impression of FCoE is that, it is trying to build a system on top of 802.3 ethernet ( 1 or 10 GiG) with the capabilities of FC. When I was searching for ideas I came through "zoning". In FC if hosts A and B belong to a zone and B and C form a separate zone , then A cannot talk to C. This is not the case with ethernet VLANS. Please correct me if I am wrong. How does FCoE handle this. In the ethernet way or in the FC way ? Please suggest me list of "TODO" things (projects) for FCoE. I wish work on them as well as learn about FCoE implementation.
