Since I hadn't heard anything in quite awhile, I e-mailed fvdl; he said he's doing a different job within Sun now and can't work on this. But he did put the webrev back up at http://cr.opensolaris.org/~fvdl/siginfo/
and took himself off of 6310532. So, is someone interested in picking this up? At the time, the code looked reasonable, although I was in no position to try to build it. I don't know that I am now - it seems to take more than 1GB RAM to get a build to complete. I'm running in VirtualBox; I can maybe get away with giving it 2GB, but that's the upper limit, and I don't know if that will work. I don't even want to think about doing a build on my SPARC (which might need updating first, it's only at snv_97), notwithstanding that it has 8GB RAM, all the swap I want to give it (realistically speaking), and two decent CPUs. Anyway, the code might need some updating, but probably not much. The RFE has been around for awhile, and since then, at least two or three people have asked here about SIGINFO. > I finished the SIGINFO prototype a while ago, and > figured I'd put it out > there so that people could comment if they wanted. > > It's here: http://cr.grommit.com/~fvdl/siginfo/ > > Note that this is a prototype, the eventual version, > while possibly > looking quite a bit like this, will of course be > subject to ARC review > and code review. > > If you're wondering why there are lpsched files in > there: the default > VSTATUS character (ctrl-t) is defined as CSTATUS on > systems that support > it.
