Hi,

I'm hoping that this has come up before but I haven't been able to find any
information that is helpful to me.

I have a Ricoh postscript printer connected to my snb_101b Open Solaris system.
It was autodetected when powered up and I simply filled in the vendor as Ricoh
and it pulled up the SP 4100NL model just fine. I can print great locally and
the print driver is "PS" (simple Postscript).

When I use rdesktop to connect to a Windows terminal server I specify the -r
printer:<printername>:<driver> option and I'm able to send print jobs to the
printer. The problem is that there is a postscript wrapper that encapsulates
the already postscript enable code and so the printer simply prints the
encapsulated postscript commands and doesn't render it.

I've edited the /etc/lp/interfaces/<printername> script and placed a "tee
/tmp/print.out" in the FILTER_CHAIN before the foomatic-rip command. The print
job is already encapsulated PS within PS before foomatic runs.

I haven't installed any other print drivers or software and I don't know where
encapsulation is really occuring.

Hopefully someone here has run into a similar issue and can steer me in the
right direction.

Thanks,

Dan
