I'll delete the file in a day or two if you don't need it.
I don't see any messages related to the floppy problem at the time I was
accessing it. This is the same machine that had problems with PS/2 based mouse
and keyboard and I had to switch to USB based ones.
Well, this seems to point to a floppy with a bad method:
Jun 30 10:39:35 lokrum acpica: [ID 972481 kern.warning] WARNING:
AcpiOsWritePort: 70 8 not permitted
Jun 30 10:39:35 lokrum acpica: [ID 815887 kern.notice] ACPI-0519: *** Error:
[ Snip the rest. ]
Thanks Casper. I have actually gone the other way: I have flushed bios to
the newest version (from A06 to A11 -- quite a jump) and now everything
seem to work fine:
1. floppy works again
2. keyboard and mouse work again
Haven't checked if the built-in 3com has started behaving again.
Thanks for all the help.
Bye, Dragan
