I must admit that I don't understand your comment.  Isn't the fact that Sun was 
willing the take the risks and then able to so successfully port Solaris 10 to 
the 64-bit Opteron/Athlon64 architecture a truly great feat?  Can IBM/HP do 
that? No.  How about SGI?  (SGI should serve a vivid example of the dire 
consequences of going all Linux.)

W/o this, we will be forever stuck with the poor Slowaris_86 image.  Then, as I 
was told, if you care for an extra couple of 9's in the stability, go with the 
SPARCs.

I think I begin to like OpenSolaris even more.  Thanks again for taking time to 
post your learned opinions.
