OK, I misunderstood you.  I think what you're talking about is something
teh Gentoo guys are working on.

Right.  The Gentoo guys are planning an OpenSolaris distro that has the
OpenSOlaris kernel, surrounded by their usual (GNU) tools.  I imagine
something like that would be very interesting to the Linux community.

It's easy for one to get that impression when people say "Linux has foo;
why doesn't Solaris have that?"
