Heya,
So I'll be the first to admit that I'm having a bunch of fun getting to
know a new community of people - both on the mailing lists, blogs and
IRC channels. Believe it or not, as a desktop engineer working on GNOME
for 5 years, I've had no little or no interaction with the kernel folks
previously [1].
So the discussion mostly goes 'Oh, you're from X - I thought you were
from Y', and I thought that having a world wide map of where we all are
would be a nice addition to the project -
http://www.gnome.org/~jdub/random/GnomeWorldWideHuge.jpg
which basically maps IRC nicks to coordinates on the map, using the
XPlanet utility [http://xplanet.sourceforge.net/].
I'd really like to see this headline on opensolaris.org, but until I get
some indication it's a good idea and the necessary infrastructure setup,
I'm willing to manually work on this myself [2]
Right now, there's just me -

[1] Some might say that was deliberate ;)
[2] The day/night will be a bit out since I don't have a regular
cron job setup refreshing the image
