The forum software replaced what you wrote with ??, but in the mailing
list it comes out correctly as the traditional characters "han zi". The
forum pages are using UTF-8 encoding, so it should be possible to
display them correctly, but there must be a limitation in the display
system. My .sig also has chinese characters in it and it comes through
correctly in email but not on the forum, for example see:

It's not just Chinese characters that are getting munged though, Jörg's
name gets munged to J?rg on the forum pages. Given the international
participation, can the opensolaris webmaster please update the forum
software to work with non-ascii characters?
