I don't know where the screenshot came from, so I can't say. (And you can't
really tell speed from a static screenshot anyway.)
Xsun on SPARC does provide hardware accelerated OpenGL for Sun graphics cards.
Xsun on x86 does not provide any OpenGL though (you may be able to use Mesa
to draw in the X client, but that should be even slower than Mesa in Xorg).
