We divide the CPUID space up another way. Someone pointed out that the n and n
+ 512 approach only applies to serengeti and (I think) starcat. Smaller
machines, on the other hand, do n and n + 16. So if weinvented a machine with
more than 512 processors, it'd be n and n + 1024 or something like that.
