Hi there, I would like more infos about:

Q: Any thoughts on porting ZFS to Linux, AIX, or HPUX? A: No
plans of porting to AIX and HPUX. Porting to Linux is currently
being investigated.
Is this still true ?
Maybe. All plans are subject to change :)
Will it be released at the same time with the Solaris version ?
Unlikely. If I can speak for the team at all, they want and need to get
the Solaris version out the door first. Porting to other OSes would not
happen before then.
And does it include all the functionality, or will it be reduced,
e.g. read-only ? What do you think / Do you know, how much % of the
zfs code needs/needed to be rewritten ?
ok, _if_ it happens, then I would _expect_ that the code would not
be ported in reduced form. There would be no point in providing a
reduced form. As to how much of the code needs to be specifically
(re)written for linux, until and unless such an effort started,
there is no real way of knowing. I think the main issues would be
found at the vnode and vfs layers. Not being a fs guru, I can't
and won't speculate (any further).
Some guys (Solaris users) told me Sun will not spend time to port it
to Linux, because Solaris and all of it's new technologies are
competing with Linux.
That may or may not be true. All plans are subject to change, and
the driver of this vehicle might experience the rapture at any time
too so make sure your seatbelt is securely fastened.
I would really like to be able to access my OpenSolaris harddrives
from Linux, too.
I believe linux has a "ufs" module as well -- have you built and
tried that?
