Letting each and every thing inside the kernel is not a definition of "Unbiased". Almost always there are technical reasons behind not allowing a change. <br><br>If Linus hadn't proved himself to be unbiased people would have stopped contributing to the Linux kernel a long time back - it's getting more and more contributors each day last I checked. <br><br>(And some adamant / illogical people have gone away from Linux because some silly thing they wanted solely for their not-so-clear purpose did not get into the Linux kernel - but it was for Linux's good - no project needs a moron.) <br> <br> What Redhat does or is doing is not the thing to measure against. Redhat already gets *lots* of indirect patches integrated from many other projects. So they aren't impacted - Fedora runs 2.6.x kernel which gets fixes from mainline kernel.org kernel for example.
