ReiserFS is the default file system for Suse, Knoppix and some others
and will be the default for Debian post Sarge. For Suse its even
likely that they move all other file systems to secondary loadable
modules which means you can only boot via ReiserFS except you build
your own kernel from scratch.

That's are political issues coming from the ext3 advocates.

Really? The only strong supporter of ext3 which did not leave the boat
yet is Redhat - and I am not sure whether THEY should dictate the list
of priorities. Redhat already does that in the Linux kernel
discussions to the annoyance of most people...
