As both "programs" are compiled from the same source, you should imagine
yourself what the background is: it seems to be a marketing decision.
BTW: the hurdle for integrating dmake is even higher as you might think....
/usr/ccs/bin/make is not even part ot OpenSolaris and the closest
aproximation (that gives best compatibility) is to use "smake" instead.
If you are interested in a free make program that supports
parallel/distributed builds, you could help to improve smake.
