I will try to find time to re-install Solaris Express 23. Now, come to think
about it, I believe what happened was that, when se23 did not recognize either
of the NICs on my machine, it decided to bypass the network config step (in
that I was not prompted to enter network data). If it was not done by the
installation script, I have no idea how to set up tcpip on a Solaris system.
(When are you going to update your Solaris Installation Guide to cover Ver. 10?
It would have been a great help.)

The fact that Solaris is different from Linux, and that it requires a steeper
learning curve, may actually be advertised as an advantage. (Read: an "elite"
OS) "Easy" may not play well with business users. OTOH a "default" Linux
installation (especially on notebooks) is inherently insecure. It's just that
no one bothers to talk about it. (Of course this problem can be easily fixed,
but the key word is the "default" installation.)
