I think we all understand that the package managament tools are
not completely upto the task.

Excellent: because I think that will be the best way forward: improving
on our current packaging system (zones currently heavily rely on Solaris
packaging).

One project I would seriously like to get of the ground is speeding
up package management.  We believe there are many possibilities to do
so, without changing the package database format even and without
making shadow copies which can get out of sync.

The goal would be to install a zone in not much more time than it
would cost to copy the files (and run the *install scripts).
