I just uploaded "sunwddkae" package (the "ae" driver)
that should take care of the lack of networking in
VMware. It'll be included as part of the next ISO
release.
For now, you can download it by doing:
% apt-get update
% apt-get install sunwddkae
(Yes, I realize the above won't help you much since
you're using the LiveCD. But just FYI.)
