  Let us say that the immediate payoff seems disproportionate to the
  amount of work invested.  However, since it means that internal work
  that has been chafing--hi, Tim; hi, Nils--to get out into the
  community can do so with little effort, the medium term payoff is
  substantial.  (Plus, since there will be a stigma associated with each
  /closed integration, the long term potential benefit is very great.)
