Hi, I have a V20z and am using a serial console. So naturally enough I used 'eeprom' to set console=ttya and things worked fine until during some driver testing I killed the box. I then needed to boot 'failsafe' only to find my console going to screen/keyboard. This makes sense since the x86.miniroot-safe boot archive contains a bootenv.rc that does not redirect the console. The problem is how to update the bootenv.rc? I tried using eeprom console=ttya and bootadm update-archive but this does not help. I had to resort to gunzipping the miniroot file and using lofiadm/mount to access it so that I could hand modify the bootenv.rc contained therein. Is there a better way to do this?
