I don't see any reason why schillix should have problems to run on 384 MB.
The default boot selection needs 128 MB (and states to need 256MB).
It may be that you have problems with your BIOS and the BIOS does not
tell grub the complete memory size.
You should read the documentation of your motherboard on how to add RAM.
It's also possible that grub's module loading doesn't get along well
with "Memory hole at 15-16MB" type BIOS options being enabled, but
that's nothing more than suspicion. I've been trying to track down why
a friend's machine fails to boot Nevada in a similar way, and that's
currently my best (and only) guess.
