Hear hear... I built my new home server over the weekend,
w/ 4x250GB drives & ZFS.  By far the most annoying part of
setting this up was dealing with the Samba shares for the
kid's PCs & Macs and the ...unusual... permissions model.

Another interesting topic for discussion might be running
Internet-facing services in a zone.  My single server provides
smtp, dns, web server, secure imap, and ssh to outside machines,
inside it's also a gateway, NAT machine, imap, NFS, samba (files
and printing), dhcp , lpr and printer host.  Some isolation
would probably be useful ;-).
