It was in fact a talk about DTrace that I couldn't go to that triggered the idea so I would really love to start with that one but if it is to ever happen, I need first the green light from the community (generally speaking), next someone willing to give the lecture and finally people interested in taking it. If someone thinks there is something better than IRC to host this or that the idea is simply flawed somewhere please do tell but I would really like to see this happening
