Yes, that works. But you won't be happy with the speed of Solaris' udfs filesystem. And the slowness of the optical media doesn't help, either. I just copied four big bzip2'ed files (62MBytes: on-closed-bins-20060214.i386.tar.bz2, SUNWonbld-20060214.i386.tar.bz2, on-src-20060214.tar.bz2 and SUNWonbld-20060214.sparc.tar.bz2) to a UDFS filesystem on a DVD-RAM media, and that needed almost 20 minutes!! ==> 50 kbytes / sec! UFS and ZFS (!) are at least an order of magnitude faster on DVD-RAM media, when compared to UDFS, I'd say. > Because if that's the case, I'm getting a DVD-RAM > drive first thing tomorrow morning!
