I am new to this forum. I have worked extensively with Solaris OS mainly as a
user and I have become recently involved with making kernel level changes, so
we decided to switch to open solaris. I have 2 questions about open solaris
I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the open solaris memory management
since we are trying to add some user-level traps to open solaris . Has anyone
done such work before ? if so is it easier compared to other OS'es like linux /
aurora ?
also i have a question regarding the boot process in an SMP OS , I was
wondering if disabling the hardware cache coherence on a system and then
loading an SMP OS like open solaris cause problems ? ( it seems like it will ,
but i dont have a definite answer to this )
thanks
smp
