Yeah, I completely agree but a DVD with *3* distributions sounds like an
amazingly confusing message to me, other than 'choice is good'. I wonder
if Linux Format would be interested in doing a series of articles, over
the next year [1 every 4 months or something?] where we get to look at
the various derivative distributions - and maybe focus in one one or two
of the key technologies that bind them all together eg. DTrace, Zones,
SMF, ...
Actually multiboot DVDs have been quite effective in bundling and showing of the various Linux LiveCDs. Such DVDs are used by magazines to bundle a bunch of LiveCD
  distros rather than distribute a bunch of CDs.

A side benefit to a DVD is further improvement in boottime performance (apart from compression and all that) since data is physically more condensed and the DVD head has
  to move less.

Hell, better still, anyone actually think about filling up the DVD with
tutorials and guides for how to get involved in OpenSolaris and the
various communities? Being able to grow the community through these sort
of things would be useful.
