I wouldn't say it is ironic, so much as it is that these distributions
bundle non-Sun drivers.

There are three specific sets of drivers I would *love* to see
integrated to Solaris proper:

- nVidia's graphics driver
- Masayuki Murayama's ethernet drivers:
        http://homepage2.nifty.com/mrym3/taiyodo/eng/
- Garrett d'Amore's ethernet drivers:
        http://sol-enet.sourceforge.net/

nVidia's driver obviously could only be included binary-only, but from
what I understand Masayuki's and Garrett's drivers are (for the most
part) BSD licensed and should be able to be included in Solaris and
even OpenSolaris/ON with little trouble.  This would in particular
make net installs much easier for some of us.
