That is absolutely disgusting. Even if Sun never gave him a cent (I can't verify this one way or another) - he's gotten far more than $1000 from various companies/governments.
Not only that, but saying the things he did in that interview, he is obviously anti-open-source. He must have been dilusional and accidently picked the wrong license. That kind of thinking isn't OSS friendly. Not only that, but it's plain spiteful and childish. I hope people don't donate any money to that man, and let him crash and burn on his own.
