Agreed. As someone who's not followed this thread closely--I don't have THAT much free time! :-)--I'm not sure I see what all the fuss is about. Yes, I'm sure that all camps could learn from each other, but I don't see how a Sun "blessed" collection of freeware would spell the death of Blastwave et al. Each collection has its own way of doing things, which may or may not be value; the community will decide which one(s) it prefers. I mean, from my back row seat, this debate is also as sensibe as Joerg getting upset because of Nexenta, BelliniX, and other OpenSolaris distros. Each offers something the others don't, and each (and others hopefully) will find their place in the market. As will Sun's brand of OpenSolaris: Solaris.
